So I heard great things about the Fiber One PB and Oats bars. I was at Target today and saw both the Fiber One bars and the Target version and compared the facts. Targets version had .5 less grams of fat and 10 less calories. I went for the Target brand. ![]()

My new makeup purchase!!!
October 15th, 2009 by prettythoughtsI ran out of Bare Minerals bronzer yesterday and I can’t live without a bronzer. However, I am looking to save some cash so while I was at Target this morning I found some drug store makeup. It was a toss up between Maybelline MIneral Power bronzers and Physician’s Formula bronzer. Maybelline did not specify that it was 100% natural but when I looked at the Physician’s Formula, it clearly stated it was 100% natural. I was so pumped! For $12.39 I got the bronzer and it came with a bonus pressed poweder! It was super exciting because I usually use Mac powder which I wasn’t really fond of because it is very comedogenic. It is no good for your skin at al, not to mention expensive. So I would have normally spent around $40.00 for those 2 itens total. Today I walked away with a GREAT buy, 2 ALL NATURAL priducts for $12.39. YAY. It’s my lucky day!!! PS In the skin care isle at Target a noticed they sell a TON of Burt’s Bees products now! I am super excited because that’s what we use on our little lady for her bath and now we use the shampoo, body wash, and lotions. I love it! Soon we will be using the hand soap, I didn’t get a chance to look and see if Target sold it. I have only seen it in small little boutiques not too close to my house.

Lazy Ass Employees
October 2nd, 2009 by prettythoughtsSo I did my usual every 2 week stop at Vince and Joe’s for my chicken breast and meat. Normally I go on Thursdays but I didn’t make it there yesterday so I went today. I get 10 lbs of chicken breast because in order to get it for $1.99 per lb you have to buy 10 lbs… so anyways I always ask them to split it in 2 five lb bags and they always say ok. Today, I was told NO and when I told her that I come every 2 weeks and ALWAYS get it like this she told me I didn’t! LOL then I described the lady who does it for me and she said that she wasn’t supposed to be doing that. Oh GEEZ! So I told her she lost out on a $20 sale and I proceeded to the manager. The manager was very apologetic and was quick to go get me my chicken, split into 2 bags. Lordy lordy there are some lazy ass people out there. How hard is it really? I worked in retail for 4 years and people had some crazy requests like 5 different transactions or some other BS, if that’s what they want you do it! I mean unless it’s something totally off the wall.

Jeans
August 27th, 2009 by prettythoughtsOh how I despise jean shopping and that is why I am not gonna do it. Well, not until I want to take the plunge and purchase the only brand that fits… Paige Jeans are the ONLY jeans that contour to my body and the downfall is, they are about $200+. Needless to say they aren’t really in my cards right now. Maybe after the carpet is in, and we are back to a normal state I will be able to splurge and get my new jeans just in time for the Fall. I will not however, every waste my time again trying on jeans of a shallower dollar amount. Although I would LOVE to and I am not an advocate of wasting money on clothes when you can easily get the same things for cheaper (Just not designer), unfortunately I have no choice when it comes to jeans. See, I love wearing jeans, I can even sleep in them if need be. (Trust me, late night parties make this necessary). This is why they MUST be perfect. Most jeans I try on are WAY too big, especially in the thighs. Some smash my ass, and some make it look like a granny. Oh, but not Paige. They are amazing, the perfect small butt pockets make my butt look nice and round and cute, they fit nice and snug in the thighs and the waist it nice and low (just under my hips). The only downfall is that I am only 5″2 but with regular length legs not short but the jeans run so long that I have to get them tailored. Hey they fit where it matters so I don’t mind paying the $15 extra bucks to get them shortened a bit. I absolutely love those jeans and now I am getting excited for my new ones just writing about it! Soon I tell myself, soon. ;) FYI, if you are tiny and petite (I mean small people, pretty damn small), and have a difficult time finding sexy jeans, try Paige, I swear by them!!! And no I can’t purchase kids jeans…. I hate when people ask that. Kids jeans are shaped completely different than women’s jeans. They are wider and more square, and definitely shorter. Children do not take a womanly shape that is WHY they are kids jeans, not just because they are smaller. Trust me there are many “kids” that are a heck of a lot bigger than I am. Ok well, happy jean hunting!!!!!!!!!!!

Why Kroger SUCKS
August 24th, 2009 by prettythoughtsKroger SUCKS because…………………….
A. Their beef is pretty gamey
B. They advertise baby food on sale, and their SALE price is still a penny more than Meijer’s regular price
C. I bought milk at Meijer over a week ago and then I needed more to make some homeade frosting so I stopped at Kroger 2 days ago… the milk I bought a week ago at Meijer has a later expiration date than the Kroger milk I bought 2 days ago
D. Kroger brand ice cream that they advertise at an amazing price can’t be called ice cream, because it’s not ice cream
E. Kroger brand tortilla chips have about 10 chips inside a regular size chip bag
This is all I can think of that the moment… but I’m sure I will remember more… ![]()

New Carpet!!! Oh happy day!
August 24th, 2009 by prettythoughtsI have had it with this old carpet of ours! While I was pregnant we replaced the carpet in our daughter’s room and the entire basement. This left us with old carpet in the living room and our bedroom. It wasn’t too bad and we got it professionally clean so it was looking pretty nice for about a minute…haha. When things are old, they just never get as “clean” as they should no matter how hard you scrub or how much you pay. Either way, when it comes down to it, when something is old, it’s old. I couldn’t take it anymore, the doggie mess stains on this light colored, already warn and over used carpet was really getting on my last nerve. My husband and I found a local carpet company called Richmond Interiors online. We spontaneously drove there over the weekend to find ourselves very pleased and ready to make the move. The company was advertising carpet remnants at a highly discounted price so my husband and I picked out a carpet that fit our needs… darker in color for our “doggie” situation since we have 2 dogs and one of them is very old and prone to making mistakes, comfortable, and affordable. We found the carpet right away and the sincerity and kindness of the business owner seeled the deal. The man was extrememly helpful, generous, and friendly. I am so very excited to be getting new carpet. Hopefully with the plastic runners you can find in Model Homes, this will prevent at least some of the messes my beautiful little dog may make in the future. Plus this new carpet is pre-treated therefore it will aid in preventing penetration of the stain. OH HAPPY DAY I cannot wait until it is installe dnext week. What I am not looking forward to however is all the work that lies ahead of me. Looking around this house my head is spinning thinking about all the little things I need to pack up and put somewhere in order to move the furniture. Baby toys, nick nacks, the entire bottomof by bedroom closet, etc. Not to meantion my husband and Father have to move all the furniture out of the living room and bedroom in order to rip up the old carpet this coming weekend. Saturday morning we have to bring Stitch to my mother-in-law’s house because my Dad isn’t fond of a boy dog who lifts his leg and may go potty on his expesive things… as for myself, my husband, my daughter, and Tippy, we will be camping out at Dad’s this coming weekend. Friday I will be packing stuff away and clearing shelves, and Saturday they will be moving all of the furniture and ripping up the old carpet. Hopefull it will all be done by Saturday but if not at least they have Sunday as well. Monday is the day!!!! Good thing the dogs will be elsewhere and my sister will be watching my little lady over at my Dad’s house. A house with no carpet is no place for a baby to be crawling around!!! By the way, have I mentioned how excited I am?! Hehehe. ![]()

Target Baby Registry
July 28th, 2008 by prettythoughtsI am here to vent about Target! I am registered there for my baby shower and it is giving me a big headache! My cousin called me a few days ago and told me that she purchased some things from my registry at Target and they have not been updated online. She DID tell the cashier that her purchases were from a registry. It has been 4 days. I called my local store and the employee suggested that maybe it is just not updating online but may be updated at the in-store Kiosk. So, this morning I drove to Target and printed out my registry. Same thing. No updates since last Thursday. I went to the Customer Service counter at Target to let them know of my concern. The lady was not much help, she just handed me a number to call and sent me on my way. When I got home I called the registry line which was absolutely no help either. The first person I spoke with basically told me that they haven’t had any technical problems with their registry. So does that mean I am making this up? So, I asked for a superior. On comes “Kathy” an arrogant, unprofessional, unintelligent woman. She proceeded to tell me that they have not had any technical difficulties with their registry and that by looking at my registry everything seems to be updating just fine. She even went as far as telling me that there have been 17 items purchased from my registry. She used the word “updating” as if she has been looking at my registry consistently for days and knows when new items have been taken off. I explained to her that it hasn’t changed since Thursday (4 days ago) and THAT’S what updating means. When I explained that a few family members have told me they have purchased things and they were concerned because it hadn’t been update she replied with telling me that my family should never have worried me with such information and that they should have called the hotline right away. So, not only is this woman ignorant and does not know the meaning of the word update, she also wanted to push the blame of Target’s malfunctioning services onto my family. She wanted specific examples of items that have been purchased and actually expected me to have them. Does she really think my family is going to call me and say “Hey I bought you a (filling the blank!) for your baby but it hasn’t shown up online! Furthermore, every time I would speak, “Kathy” would cut me off and start every sentence with my first name. I am not normally like this but I just couldn’t help myself; Finally I told her to stop calling me by my first name and that I never gave her permission to do so. LOL. I was so fed up with this phone call and the lack of professionalism that I was done being nice and I could see that I was not going to get any assistance. I do not recommend anyone to register at Target. They have a horrible return policy, and if this is what happens with registries I am going to get a ton of duplicates. Just the hassle I am looking to have when I am 8 months pregnant!!! I registered for my wedding there last year and I did not have as big of a problem with the registry but I did have a lot of duplicate purchases and they were sticklers about returning. Target has not been helpful whatsoever and I cannot wait until I don’t have to deal with them anymore!
