Why Kroger SUCKS

August 24th, 2009 by prettythoughts

Kroger SUCKS because…………………….

A. Their beef is pretty gamey

B. They advertise baby food on sale, and their SALE price is still a penny more than Meijer’s regular price

C. I bought milk at Meijer over a week ago and then I needed more to make some homeade frosting so I stopped at Kroger 2 days ago… the milk I bought a week ago at Meijer has a later expiration date than the Kroger milk I bought 2 days ago

D. Kroger brand ice cream that they advertise at an amazing price can’t be called ice cream, because it’s not ice cream

E. Kroger brand tortilla chips have about 10 chips inside a regular size chip bag

This is all I can think of that the moment… but I’m sure I will remember more… ;)

New Carpet!!! Oh happy day!

August 24th, 2009 by prettythoughts

I have had it with this old carpet of ours! While I was pregnant we replaced the carpet in our daughter’s room and the entire basement. This left us with old carpet in the living room and our bedroom. It wasn’t too bad and we got it professionally clean so it was looking pretty nice for about a minute…haha. When things are old, they just never get as “clean” as they should no matter how hard you scrub or how much you pay. Either way, when it comes down to it, when something is old, it’s old. I couldn’t take it anymore, the doggie mess stains on this light colored, already warn and over used carpet was really getting on my last nerve. My husband and I found a local carpet company called Richmond Interiors online. We spontaneously drove there over the weekend to find ourselves very pleased and ready to make the move. The company was advertising carpet remnants at a highly discounted price so my husband and I picked out a carpet that fit our needs… darker in color for our “doggie” situation since we have 2 dogs and one of them is very old and prone to making mistakes, comfortable, and affordable. We found the carpet right away and the sincerity and kindness of the business owner seeled the deal. The man was extrememly helpful, generous, and friendly. I am so very excited to be getting new carpet. Hopefully with the plastic runners you can find in Model Homes, this will prevent at least some of the messes my beautiful little dog may make in the future. Plus this new carpet is pre-treated therefore it will aid in preventing penetration of the stain. OH HAPPY DAY I cannot wait until it is installe dnext week. What I am not looking forward to however is all the work that lies ahead of me. Looking around this house my head is spinning thinking about all the little things I need to pack up and put somewhere in order to move the furniture. Baby toys, nick nacks, the entire bottomof by bedroom closet, etc. Not to meantion my husband and Father have to move all the furniture out of the living room and bedroom in order to rip up the old carpet this coming weekend. Saturday morning we have to bring Stitch to my mother-in-law’s house because my Dad isn’t fond of a boy dog who lifts his leg and may go potty on his expesive things… as for myself, my husband, my daughter, and Tippy, we will be camping out at Dad’s this coming weekend. Friday I will be packing stuff away and clearing shelves, and Saturday they will be moving all of the furniture and ripping up the old carpet. Hopefull it will all be done by Saturday but if not at least they have Sunday as well. Monday is the day!!!! Good thing the dogs will be elsewhere and my sister will be watching my little lady over at my Dad’s house.  A house with no carpet is no place for a baby to be crawling around!!! By the way, have I mentioned how excited I am?! Hehehe. :)

Football already?!

August 18th, 2009 by prettythoughts

Ugh seriously? I don’t mind it when it’s chilly outside or even in September/October… but August? Yikes!!! It is already consuming my television!!!!!! Haha. I don’t mind a good Sunday afternoon football game that my husband, father, and brother like to enjoy together, but I like spending my evening nights doing things other than sitting around my house while football is on day in and day out. Last week the Lions played a practice game, and actually won! But that is beside the point… football already started in the middle of August, dang. It isn’t really the football itself that bothers me, I think it is what football represents, cold weather, and boring Sundays.

My changing baby!

August 12th, 2009 by prettythoughts

Oh wow she is growing right before my eyes. She is almost 10 months old now. Her behaviors are changing, she is learning new things like waving and pointing. One change that has not set so easily with me is her new napping requirements. She always took two naps per day. The first around 10:30 AM and the second around 3:30. Lately, she has been falling asleep around 11:30 AM and waking up around 1:30 PM. Then I would put her down at 4:00 PM and that would work and she would then sleep until around 6:00 PM. Then a few days ago she started refusing her afternoon nap! She wasn’t crying when I put her down at 4:00 PM, but she was just not sleeping. I feel totally guilty leaving her in her crib for two hours if she isn’t even sleeping. This drove me crazy. So today, I bit the bullet and did it. I tried the one nap per day thing. My intention was to see how she was behaving all morning and put her down at 1:00 PM. Well after our walk about about 11:30 AM, we came home and she basically had a melt down on the living room floor. I thought to myself, “Ok, she must be exhausted.” And I put her to bed. She was quiet for about ten minutes and I thought she was sleeping. Then suddnely she started making noise and was playing. Well, it was only 11:40 AM so I figured I would get her out and keep her up until 1:00 PM so she could take one long, afternoon nap. So that is what we did.I fed her lunch at 1:00 PM and put her right in her crib after that. I think she fell asleep around 1:30-1:45 PM. I hope she sleeps til 4:00 PM! Haha. It’s gonna take some getting used to, for the both of us. I was really content with those two naps, especially the later one…  the morning nap was a good time for me to get cleaning done, start dinner, and do random things around the house and the later nap was for ME! I would have coffee, lay down, relax,or even finish dinner. Well, as long as I can keep her nap later in the day, I think I will be ok. :)

August 7th, 2009 by prettythoughts

I think the benefit of a good laugh out weighs the other… so anyways, SHOOZY SHOOZY SHOOZY. If anyone has ever been to the SoapNet GH Message Boards, you will come across a vile and bitter poster who goes by the name of Shoozy. This person is a miserable excuse for a human (if that’s even what is behind that computer). It is very negative in almost every aspect of life. It makes negative comments about the show and it’s characters constantly, about other celebrities, and fellow posters on the board. This poster is so infatuated with everything I do that it comes to this blog and copies and pastes my posts!!!!!!!!! Silly Shoozy, if you despise me so much why are you doing me all these favors by coming to my blog??? I know you are reading this you pathetic excuse for ANYTHING living. …………Anyways I would advise you all to please visit the SoapNet Message Boards (GH) and just read some of this moron’s posts… it is a hoot! Thanks again and think PRETTY THOUGHTS!

I can’t wait for this weekend!

August 7th, 2009 by prettythoughts

As I sit here with my beauty in my lap, my left hand on her bottle and my right on this keyboard, I can’t help but anxiously wait for the weekend to officially begin. I miss my husband more than ususal on this long Friday. I cannot wait, just a few hours more and the weekend is here! I am looking forward to staying in with my little family. My husband, my beauty, my 2 dogs, and maybe even my Dad will come by for dinner. After dinner I will enjoy a nice walk with my 2 loves and when the little lady is settled in bed it will be time to relax with my husband. Tonight I plan to cuddle with him on the couch, watch a movie (or maybe some DVRed GH), have some popcorn or roast some delicious marshmallows out on the deck. I am very excited for this evenings festivities and for the awesome storms we are supposed to have all day tomorrow. :) Good storms make good cuddle sessions!

I hate cars!!!!!!!!!!

July 30th, 2009 by prettythoughts

Leasing, buying, new, used, I hate them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Going to buy a car (or lease) is such a dreaded task. My very first car, I purchased myself in cash. It wasn’t very fashionable but it was cheap and ran well. My second was a lease as was my third, and now my fourth. Well My fourth is due to be turned in this November and I don’t know what I am going to do. These days, you can no longer lease cars because the financial insitutions and leasing companies are just not leasing out anymore. Buying a car is a big commitment and from my understanding even more expensive. What do these companies think? Especially in times like these when everyone is trying to CUT costs, why do they think I want to pay $75 + MORE per month for a vehicle? I for sure don’t! I have come to the point where I no longer need my moon roof or heated seats, or digital whatevers… as long as it’s safe and runs (and not a mini van) I am down. Good thing I can put this off until November to worry about. Who knows maybe there will be better deals then? Haha probably not. I really cannot afford any more than I am already paying… I can barely afford what I have now. I wanted to CUT the cost of my vehicle, not add to it!!! Did I mention I HATE CARS?

What happened to Michigan Summers?

July 15th, 2009 by prettythoughts

Where I live here in Michigan it has been a chilly Summer. We had such a drastic and intense Winter that I thought for sure the Summer would be just as drastic and intense. Instead we have mildly warm air and clouds. I really appreciate the sunshine when I can get it! I miss the days of waking up in the morning and walking outside when it was almost too hot to breath, then you could cool off in the crisp air conditioning. Many times, I would even get out of the air conditioned house because I was too cold. I simply love Summer and love the heat. I miss the way my feel would burn on the pavement, having water balloon fights with cold water and not even blinking an eye, getting out of the pool without the tiniest shiver because it was just that hot outside. What happened to Michigan Summers? It seems like we suffer through the Winter months for no reward. At least before there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate any weather warmer than 45 here in Michigan. I just wish we had the sweltering heat this year…

Crawling like crazy!!!!!!

July 1st, 2009 by prettythoughts

My little lady has been crawling for almost a month now but just recently she has really picked up speed! She is into everything! The condo is not huge so no matter where she goes, she is into mischief. There are always about a gazillion toys on the floor for her to play with and keep entertained, but for some reason the only things she is interested is the panels we have for blinds on our door-wall and the books that are in our entertainment center. Oh and the magazines in the rack. It seems like everything that ISN’T a toy is much more interesting than all her toys. I am convinced that the toy inventors are morons. The bright colors and rattling sounds do nothing for children. Put a rattle or even a toy that lights up next to the television remote and the child will go for the tv remote very time. Haha. I wish I could invent more realistic and effective toys!

Getting Fit (When I’m not eating chocolate cake and being lazy)

July 1st, 2009 by prettythoughts

After looking at my post pregnancy tummy every hour of every day and seeing how very skinny I am but with NO muscle tone now that they are all stretched I figured I should take another step into getting fit. I am now drinking a protein shake a day! It is actually really good without that weird protein/medicinal taste, and it’s Meijer brand! Chocolate flavor and mixed with skim milk I feel like I am drinking a frothy glass of chocolate milk. It is super yummy. You’re supposed to drink it either before or after a workout… for the most part I have been doing that but sometimes I drink the shake and do the workout hours later, or not at all. Haha. I am still doing On Demand Ab Workouts and some of them actually kick my ass. The only thing is I still love my junk food. I am able to eat super healthy all day long such as oatmeal for breakfast and tuna on whole grain bread with spinach for lunch. But if I don’t cook a homemade healthy meal, then dinner is just down the tubes. Don’t even get my started on dessert. Ever since I had my daughter I have had a huge sweet tooth which I never had before. I am Italian… I would have taken pasta over a pastry any day. Now immediately after dinner, I MUST have something sweet. I guess it’s not a bad thing because I never really go over board… and it keeps me so I am not depriving myself of foods I really love yet I am still eating healthy all the other times. Last night (my dinner downfall) I went to Buffalo Wild Wings with my family. Needless to say, my dinner was very unhealthy and then I decided to order their amazing chocolate cake that I was basically addicted to two Summers ago. (Before I was ever pregnant so it didn’t really matter). That cake was DELICIOUS and I am so glad I got it. I can’t wait to see the results of the protein shakes on my abs… gonna be interesting and a long road. :)
